Weaning time can be a stressful time for animals, however by allowing them to be with their mothers until they start naturally weaning themselves off their mothers milk (usually initiated by mum), and making the final separation together along with the friends they've been with since birth so lots of familiar faces and smells, makes the process much easier on both mum and calf (plus lots of yummy food helps make everything better)! This year there was no mooing at all from mums, none from Summer and Rocky and only about 5 minutes worth from Galaxy before he happily settled into life in the baby zone!
